The Brookings Institution, Metropolitan Policy Program

The Brookings Institution is widely hailed as one the world's most prestigious think tanks, turned to by countless policy makers, thought leaders, journalists and researchers. Brookings is known for its thinking in global affairs, economics and education as well as for strengthening America's metropolitan areas through its Metropolitan Policy Program.

Known initially as the Brookings Urban Center, Metro leadership sought to expand the scope and impact of the program. Myra was brought on to help generate new strategies and plans, develop leadership and produce greater capacity and infrastructure as the Center became the Metropolitan Policy Program, a core pillar of Brookings. Myra's work with senior leadership intensified as Metro created and launched the Blueprint for American Prosperity. She helped further develop the leadership team and staff in general, continued to ask difficult and insightful questions and established a new communications position and platform for the organization.

The Metropolitan Policy Program is praised for the impact it is having at the Federal level, both in the Administration and Congress, and throughout the country. There is a solid, passionate and empowered senior leadership team, and the program has attracted the respect, involvement and support of top US corporate and philanthropic executives. Metro's leadership often refers to Myra's role as integral to the Program's success.
